I’d definitely say this lightsaber is worth the price for any fan of Star Wars. It’s a neat toy to play with from time to time (who hasn’t fantasized about being a Jedi at some point in their life, whether young or old?) or just to keep on a desk as a collector’s item. I purchased this to finish a Jedi costume that I wore to a Halloween event at my work. It worked wonderfully! I kept the blade detached and just wore the hilt on my belt for a while under my robe. It is relatively weighty so costume belts (the fabric type) may not be able to support it. I had to improvise with a disguised military web belt.

After a while I saw some kids dressed as other Star Wars characters and quickly turned around to install the blade. This is a quick process that involves unscrewing a small screw, removing the plastic filler piece, seating the blade, and then pressing and holding the blade down into the hilt while replacing the screw. It’s quick and painless! I hid the lightsaber behind my back until they approached and then casually brought it around in front. They thought it looked cool but were blown away when I turned it on! I spent the night enjoying the shocked faces of the kids that were trick or treating and the questions I received from numerous fathers who wanted to know where they could get one (of course I sent them to Amazon).

The lightsaber is definitely well-made with a hefty weight that doesn’t feel cheap. Although the hilt feels durable, the blade will undoubtedly break with any hard impact. It’s worth noting that my hilt has a couple of scratches on it after falling from my belt (that’s why I switched to a web belt). They are not very noticeable though.

I will undoubtedly use this again next year with another costume. Until then, I’ll have it on my desk!
